In this episode, we talk with Jean Hemphill. When we interviewed her she was just a few weeks shy of her 100th birthday. On Sunday, April 10, 2022, Jean went home to be with the Lord in glory. We are thankful to have had the opportunity to interview this amazing woman in the last year of her life. Though Jean recounts challenges throughout her century of life, God's goodness was the constant refrain. Our friend, Tori Mann, joined us afterward to reflect on the interview.

Oaks of Righteousness

Evelyn created Oaks of Righteousness to collect stories from older women in the RPCNA so that younger generations could be encouraged by their witness to God's faithfulness in the ordinary, daily, and lifelong challenges of life. The podcast is produced by her husband, Johnathan Kruis.

Isaiah 61:3

To grant to those who mourn in Zion,
    to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
    the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit;
that they may be called oaks of righteousness,
    the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.
